Most boiler problems we get called to fix start with a bad install: oversized for the property, undersized for the hot-water demand, hung from plasterboard with no pattress, no system flush, no magnetic filter, no inhibitor, warranty unregistered. Fixing those mistakes later costs more than doing it right first time.
We size every install with a proper heat-loss calculation — not a guess based on radiator count. We pre-flush every system before fitting a new boiler (mandatory for warranty on most makes), fit a MagnaClean Pro2 filter as standard, refresh inhibitor to manufacturer spec, and register the warranty in your name on the day of install.
You get one fixed price agreed before we start: boiler, parts, labour, VAT, removal of old boiler, and the magnetic filter. No 'while-I'm-here' charges. If we run into something unexpected (rotten flue terminal, dodgy gas supply pipe), we tell you, quote it separately, and you decide.

A bad install today is your repair bill in 18 months
We get called to boilers that are 18 months old and already breaking down. The reason is almost always one of four things: wrong size for the property, no system flush before fit, no magnetic filter, or no inhibitor in the new water. Each of those is preventable in 30 minutes at install — and unfixable later without lifting the new boiler off the wall.
Manufacturer warranties get rejected for system contamination more often than for any other reason. The boiler is fine; the system around it killed it.

In detail
Combi vs system vs regular — and which one's right for your home
Combi boilers heat both your central heating and your hot water on demand from a single unit — no cylinder, no tank in the loft. They suit small-to-medium homes (up to 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom) where shower flow matters more than running multiple taps simultaneously. They're cheaper to install, cheaper to run for low hot-water use, and free up airing-cupboard space.
System boilers heat the central heating directly but use an unvented hot-water cylinder for stored hot water. They suit larger homes (3+ bathrooms) where multiple taps and showers run simultaneously. The cylinder gives you mains-pressure hot water at every outlet, no flow drop, but you do need cupboard space.
Regular (heat-only) boilers feed an open-vented system with a cylinder and a cold-water tank in the loft. Less common in new installs, but the right answer for some heritage properties or where mains pressure is poor and you don't want to upgrade.
